Family Fun Day – Sunday 30th September

at the Pavilion on the Park between 10am and 3pm
Kingfisher Road, Eastleigh SO50 9LH

The event is open to children, families and working age people. It will be a day of fun with information and a chance to make new friends or catch up with old acquaintances.

There will be plenty of fun activities for you to try your hand at and an opportunity to have a go at various sports. There will be information and demonstrations with something for everybody. We have use of the sensory room and will have a session with Cycles4all. Winchester Goalball with Adam, Multisports with Lee Davis and the Saints Foundation will all be providing sessions throughout the day.

We are busy bringing the day together so if you any ideas or contacts you have for the event, do let us know.

If you have a skill or enjoy a hobby that you think others would like to find out about, please contact me. The day is all about inspiration!

This really will be a fantastic day so save the date and I will keep you informed as the programme of events assemble.

I would also like to hear from you if you are interested in getting together for a smaller event. This may be a trip to a country park, summer fair or theme park. Do you know of an event that is happening over the summer near you that you would like to inform other families about? Maybe you would like to meet up with other families and like some help to make this happen.

Discover how eSight Eyewear is giving back independence to people with sight loss.
Brian Casey  is the first manin Europe to not only have tested new breakthrough technology eSight eyewear, buthaveit work. Associated Optical who are the UK distributors are running open days across the UK to enable this eyewear to be available to as many people as needed.
The next open day will be at Opensight, October 18th
This is a real opportunity to spend time with an eSight advocate who will spend time with clientsto assess their suitability for eSight eyewear.
This is done by reviewing their sight befor and while using the electronic glasses. There will be a chance to discover how eSight eyewear works and use them in a numberof activities like watching TV, reading, using a computer and general mobility skills.
Many people who have attended previous clinics have already experienced the immediate impact these glasses have on their lives, like Brian Casey who saw his wife for the first time in 27 years as well as seeing details and an explosion of colour.
“It was an explosion of colours. It was like being in a sweet shop as a kid, trying to see it all, experience it all, taste it all, remember it all. – I hadn’t realised just how much I’d forgotten or still missed.” – Brian Casey describing his moment when he tried eSight eyewear for the first time!
What’s so special about eSight?
The headset is visor like in appearance and is like a prescription frame via a pair of elastic, magnetic bands. On the front is a 1080p camera that grabs a live video feed of everything in sight, pipes it down to a processing unit that tucks into a pocket or purse and then sends it back to a pair of OLED screens.
The person wearing the headset sees full colour video images clearly, with no lag time, and can zoom in.
You can book an hour appointment at Opensight on 18th October by calling Associated Optical direct on 01628 600 410
