An exciting new oral history project captures the experiences of visually impaired people in Hampshire.
Open Sight has received funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund to record the memories of some extraordinary people. The project offers a unique insight into sight loss in Hampshire featuring the personal stories, told in their own words, of ten people who are visually impaired.
The project will provide a fascinating reflection of both the changes in society and this county over the 90 years since the charity’s inception, and the indomitable spirit of those interviewed. These are people who have led interesting and often remarkable lives despite their disability.
A launch event for this social history book, audio book, film and exhibition will take place at The Lights in Andover on Tuesday 26th March from 4pm to 6pm.
