Graham Watts and Janie Biddiscombe from Southern Foods IT present Tessa Barrett and Terry Smith from Open Sight with a cheque for £3,203.83. the total raised during their fundraising year.
Tessa Barrett said, “it was an amazing effort and we cannot thank them enough. The money raised will be used to support our grant application scheme, community development and family support.”
Sam Appleton is a twenty two year old who lost his sight due to Leber’s Hereditary Optic Neuropathy just over two years ago.
This huge life change propelled him to retrain as a masseur at Basingstoke College of Technology.
Last year Sam raised almost £500 by offering a taster massage in exchange for a donation to Open Sight. This fantastic amount meant that people who experience sight loss and their families could benefit from Open Sight’s services.
Now Sam is once again offering to provide a 15 minute massage with all monies going to Open Sight. The difference this year is that he has now opened his own salon, Sensations, so he will be able to provide the massages in the Salon. The salon is a independently owned Hairdressing and Beauty Salon, conveniently located in Fleet High Street which offers a full service for hair, beauty and massage.
If you’re interested in this offer or any of the other fantastic services they provide why not contact Sam and book an appointment.
They are open six days a week, two of which appointments are available until 8pm.
Telephone 01252 613600. You can also find more information at www.sensations-fleet.co.uk.
Everyone at Open Sight wishes Sam every success with the salon and a huge thank you for once again raising money to support Open Sight.
