Russell Finn is running the London Marathon on behalf of Open Sight, in appreciation for all the help given to assist his wife who has visual impairment.
Russel says: ” I got a place in London by running Brighton marathon 2016 in 3:09:57 – fast enough to get a “Good for Age” place once you’re old (41-50). But I got an injury training in 2017 so couldn’t run it. My 2018 goals are: 1) don’t get injured, 2) run a personal best, 3) run faster than 3:05 (the Good for Age time for youngsters) Training is going well so far. I started in anger Jan 1 with 30km including two 5k parkruns. 532km (330 miles) run in the first 6 weeks this year. And I’ve lost about 3kg of Christmas weight 🙂
Russel aims to raise £500 in aid of Open Sight.
Anyone who wants to motivate his training and help people losing their vision can donate on the justgiving page here, it’s much appreciated.
